"TI wanted to provide HP with a high-performance imaging solution that would allow the company to continually improve and differentiate their multi- function printer portfolio," said Eric Braddom, manager, DSP Video and Imaging, TI. In addition, the single programmable DSP replaces several fixed-function devices, thereby reducing overall system cost. With the C6000 DSP platform, HP customers can experience enhanced image quality in finished documents and flexibility in the development of mathematically intensive image processing algorithms. For instance, because of code compatibility in the DSP platform, HP can upgrade product software through a simple downloading process. In addition to reducing time-to-market, TI's programmable DSPs enable companies to keep pace with the changing standards of the imaging industry by allowing them to implement their own intellectual property for market-winning product differentiation. As more printers evolve into networked, multifunction appliances, the performance and programmability of TI's DSPs can help manufacturers quickly and cost-effectively deliver products that facilitate document management for large work groups. HP's use of the high-performance TI DSP platform is part of a growing market trend. HP MFPs, which are marketed to the commercial customer segment, enable users to perform multiple functions, such as print, copy, scan and fax, from one device to improve productivity and save costs. ![]() The programmable TI TMS320C6000 DSPs allows HP to deliver high quality hard copy images quickly and cost effectively for its customers. ![]() (TI) (NYSE: TXN) has announced that the TI DSP platform has been selected for two of Hewlett-Packard Company's newest multifunction products (MFPs). The "quality" is so low I can't read any of the road names and can barely distinguish the line pattern types to see what kind of road it is. This Dinkey Creek Road map is 2 screenshots (the road runs over two maps) pasted into a blank document in Photoshop so I could line them up and create a single continuous map of the whole road. (I'm not sure if this will transfer well to inserting into a post, but hopefully you can tell the difference). ![]() The below Huntington lake map was pasted into Paint. But when I paste into a new Photoshop file it tends to loose quality, by which I mean that text is too blurry to read. If I paste the screen shot into a more simple program like Paint or Powerpoint, the "quality" is preserved. This happens to me as well! I notice it most when I take screen shots.
